MISERY AND GRACE

The shrill, loud, disharmonious blood represents the place of suffering. The deep, innermost feeling of pain and hopelessness; of listlessness, accompanied by suicidal thoughts; of emptiness and eternal slowness. But all these sensory expressions rage above the I. It is the formless I that creates the space and time to experience these emotions. The gold that captures all this with its warmth and solidity. People often need a harsh slap in the face to shake themselves awake; to splash cold water on their face, breathe deeply, orient themselves, and finally open their eyes again and perceive the situation around them. Suffering is precisely this slap! The deeper the experience of suffering, the greater the redemption. Ideally, it requires a person who is theoretically aware of this process. Someone who can plunge into suffering, who can allow it. Someone who can thank and love the devil, knowing that all these processes exist on a level that does not touch their true self. However, it is necessary for their superficial existence to shed their previous identifications in order to see through this superficial self, which is the cause of all suffering, and to give up their identification with it. In this way, he frees himself from all suffering. All of it! The fear of death will be taken away, because the true self cannot die. Only the superficial self that acts in space and time. When all fear and worry is taken away from a person, only love remains. The incomprehensible love of life. The love of breathing, of running, of dancing, of kissing, of eating, and so on. All of life, every act, will be an act of love. - Elias Franziskus Grüner, 2021
